A preview of Orban PANEL 0.5.0 (full public release version)

We have gotten Netman to run along with every other program. This means that Orban visual voice assistant, Panel, IO server, relay server and Netman are all working together.

What does this mean for Orban?

As there is an active tester for Orban with the entire system running, the program is being tested for daily use. For the most part, this is the exact same software that the public will receive initially, but it's on trial right now. Once it is deemed stable, we will be able to release it. There will be two major stability checks.

Right now the software outputs CSV files based on sensors and weather data that you can import to graphing software. This is netman's main function right now, but in the future it will be able to take advantage of some HVAC commands that are currently working, but netman itself is not connected to any kind of control server. The HVAC system can detect how humid it is inside and use a weather API to detect how humid it is outside, and do the same process with temperature as well to result in more energy efficient air conditioning. If the air quality and humidity as well as temperature is desirable outside, the outdoor air can be used instead of air conditioning. You can use window fans, attic fans or RV vents for this function.

IO server has the ability to detect information from 3 DHT sensors, three ultrasonic sensors for tank monitoring in RVs as well as capacitive sensors for that same purpose. Each sensor array can be individually enabled and disabled. Both Netman and IO server can have their configuration files set up through a GUI inside of the Orban folder.

All you have to do is set up configuration files for both of these programs, put the desired programs on Linux computers and find a way to make them run at startup. We recommend using crontab.txt .

The visual voice assistant has working plugins and accepts voice commands, as well as controls devices in your house, sets alarms, plays local media files, sets timers and more. You currently have the ability to specify a desired temperature for Netman to achieve, though Netman doesn't currently have the ability to control any HVAC hardware. The point is, the framework is ready to support that. The visual voice assistant has many functions, from playing brown noise to telling jokes. We have also included a word game module with all copies of 0.5.0 .

The Panel has full customization. You can delete widgets and add them wherever you want to. Unfortunately, the tank widget is experiencing some placement issues that will be ironed out. Panel is receiving information and displaying it correctly.

As for the relay server, it's just a raspberry pi with some shell scripts that are launched over SSH to turn on and off specific GPIO pins. It's working, no surprise there.

Context:

My father is the one testing out this system, and long ago my grandmother gave him this statue because she thought it looked constipated and named it "King Imodium". This was the perfect place to put the DHT sensors for monitoring humidity and temperature inside of his RV, so this is where they are. I just thought it was worth putting it here.
