Orban was created to be the best of both worlds for open home automation. Orban offers rich visuals, guided setups, comes with everything it needs to work including a new and dynamic voice assistant, as well as the ability to manipulate the system on a code and hardware level. It is easy to set up, simple to configure and human to operate. Some people will only download updates and modules to add systems as needed, while others may opt for a more hands-on approach. Orban is also tightly integrated with its own robots you can purchase, such as PySapien, OR-A, OR-V and OR-FSC. The entire system is coded in Python 3. This means that most people will find it easy to modify Orban with modules if needed and upload it to the module store. Being open, you can do anything as long as it does not violate our ethical or licensing guidelines.
Approachable
Thanks to a variety of embedded scripts and our cutting-edge use of Tkinter, All of Orban can be manipulated in a user-friendly environment without needing to know how to code, giving it an edge over all other D.I.Y. kits, including a systems monitor, visual voice assistant and settings menus for every imaginable feature. Even if a server is headless and never seen by a human after setup until maintenance, there is a way to adjust it over the network through other programs. the same system updates everything automatically. (in version 0.6).
Orban can do it all without a hint of coding knowledge. This is serious.
Universal
Home is what home is. I know that. Orban is designed to work with or without internet, as well as with RV parts like tank monitors, or any other special systems your estate has. From teepees to mud-huts and vans to luxurious mansions, Orban feels right at home. After all, we're all human and have a different kind of estate. Orban recognizes that fact and leverages it to the fullest extent, being the first in the home automation industry to do so.
Orban was created to be modified, and is coded entirely in python3. You can modify, remix, share and create new ways to use Orban, as long as it meets our ethical guidelines. There are ways to install or upload any module that modifies Orban's code on the fly to allow for extended functionality without too much expense on the programmer's side. You can do just about anything you want to do with your house. Some modules slated for release include smart sink / showers, RV / camper tools, independent room air conditioning, exotic animal care and an openCV modules.
Modular
Accessible
With only a microphone, an internal network, some relays, one or more SBCs and a PC, you can get started with Orban, possibly with things some people may already have. Orban uses off the shelf components like DHT sensors, HC-SR04 sensors and more, as well as standard IoT computers and any computer motherboard capable of supporting the libraries you have. I do however request that you use 64-bit processors, as most dependencies are transitioning away from 32-bit support. For the same reason, I recommend the use of 64-Bit Raspberry Pi SBCs.
Ground-Breaking
Orban was crafted to work in unconventional ways, unlike anything previously seen in home automation. Orban is tightly integrated with your network, constantly sending and receiving data internally. When creating something for Orban, the code loads in your parts on the fly. This makes new behaviors based on input possible, while also maintaining functionality even after updating the software. Orban can set routines, reminders, alarms and does all things voice assistant. Orban even has some basic natural language processing to understand exactly what you are saying when you throw commands like "Set the thermostat to thirty two degrees" at it, it works seamlessly. The software supports infinite sensors and relays. It can truly adapt to any situation.
All of this can even work without an internet connection.
